BIOTECH4FOOD will be present at Alimentaria 2026, supporting CNTA in three key presentations that explore how biotechnology is opening new avenues for innovation, value creation and competitive growth in the food sector, redefining business models and enabling a new generation of functional, health-driven solutions. On Monday 23rd, Leyre Urtasun, Head of Product Development R&D at CNTA, will open the programme with the session “GLP-1 and appetite suppressants: the next frontier in food.” She will explore how understanding satiety mechanisms mediated by GLP-1 is opening the door to biotech-enabled food solutions for metabolic well-being.

On Tuesday 24th, Silvia García de la Torre, Director of Innovation and Collaborative Ecosystems at CNTA, will join a strategic discussion on the major forces reshaping the sector. She will examine how technological platforms, open innovation models and the rise of data-driven and biotech-enabled start-ups are accelerating the shift towards a more connected, sustainable and innovation-intensive food industry.

Lastly, on Wednesday 25th, our colleague Carolina González, Head of New Food Ingredients R&D at CNTA, will conclude the programme with “Functional ingredients: innovation that drives health and the market.” The session will focus on how biotechnology and other advanced technological tools (e.g., encapsulation, omics technologies and cutting-edge functional characterisation) are paving the way for next-generation ingredients capable of delivering verified benefits and high consumer acceptance.

Together, these presentations show how BIOTECH4FOOD is leveraging biotechnology to accelerate innovation, create healthier and more sustainable products, and strengthen competitiveness across the industry.

Alimentaria 2026 will take place in Barcelona, 23-26 March 2026. Come meet us there!
